Burano is a perfect day trip from Venice. The brightly painted houses are a photographer’s paradise. The island’s residents are mostly fisherman. The houses were painted in bright colors to help fisherman find their way home after a long day at sea. Outside of it’s charming streets Burano offers the best fresh fish in the region and plenty of quaint shops to buy handstictched lace.
